About Us

Fresh Air Films was born in Waterloo, Ontario out of Princess Cinema's long-running outdoor movie series Music and Movies in the Park.  Started in the summer of 2007 in partnership with The City of Waterloo and The Beat goes on, Music and Movies in the Park runs an annual summer program of classic films and new block-buster movies on a HUGE inflatable movie screen in Waterloo Park. The free annual outdoor movie series has become an annual tradition in Waterloo, bringing thousands of family members, and neighbours together every summer.

In 2014, Princess Cinemas invested in an inflatable movie screen to self-produce our annual outdoor movie series in Waterloo Park and help other community event organizers host outdoor movies of their own. From this expansion, Fresh Air Films was born!

Since we started, we have played host to and assisted with hundreds of public and private outdoor movies and community events in the Waterloo Region and communities in South-Western Ontario.

Fresh Air Films is family owned and operated by the same folks who have brought you Waterloo's Princess Cinemas - opened in 1985 - and Hamilton's Playhouse Cinema - restored & reopened in 2019.
